DESCRIPTION OF THE CONFERENCE:
1. The primary goals of the conference are as listed on the home page. Underlying goals include providing a suitable setting and adequate resources to ensure that students receive an optimum amount of leadership training during the conference.
2. To accomplish these goals, the conference is held at Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) due to the excellent facilities found there and the positive academic atmosphere that pervades the institution. PLU is a relatively small Liberal Arts university with picturesque buildings and grounds. PLU has a reputation as one of the best private universities in the region. This translates to excellent facilities such as the library and other resources on campus.
3. During the conference, the students interface with professionals from various disciplines in order to gain insight concerning the many aspects of leadership. These professionals volunteer their time to help the students achieve a better understanding of leadership from various perspectives.
4. The conference is approved by the National Association of Secondary School Principles and it is highly regarded in the Pacific Northwest. Many of the students who have attended the conference have been successful in applying the leadership knowledge they gained to real life situations in their schools and communities. |
